Abstract

Sul tema delle istituzioni medievali è possibile riscontrare una sostanziale divergenza tra il pensiero di Hegel e quello di Schmitt. Mentre il filosofo vede nelle strutture medievali l'antitesi necessaria per l'ascesa della soggettività moderna e dello Stato, il giurista negli ultimi anni della sua vita coglie nell'ordine medievale e nella sua forza spirituale un elemento di significato da opporre alla spoliticizzazione dell'epoca attuale.

On the theme of medieval institutions, it is possible to find a substantial divergence between Hegel’s and Schmitt’s thoughts. While the philosopher sees in medieval structures the necessary antithesis for the rise of the modern subjectivity and the State, the jurist in the last years of his life captures in the medieval order and in his spiritual strength an element of meaning to be opposed to the depoliticization of the current era.
