Abstract

The essay aims to outline the judgment offered by Gaetano Salvemini regarding the Bolshevik revolution and its reception in Italy. In open controversy with the positions taken by the majority of socialists, in the aftermath of the First World War, Salvemini denounced the Soviet model. In fact, he considered the Soviet Union to be a totalitarian regime, unable to ensure the minimum fundamental freedoms to its community.
