Liberal civilization, the West and the fate of the West in the European consciousness between the two wars

Abstract

This essay analyses the question of European identity from the perspective of some thinkers that, during the twentieth century, have reflected on its cultural origins. Their analysis takes place between the wars and, despite different opinions, all the authors start from a common liberal vision of life and society. The argumentation is focused mainly on cultural and philosophical issues.
