Abstract

This article aims to highlight the principal features of European interests in the writings of Adriano Romualdi and Alain de Benoist. For the former, Europe was an anchor for the traditional Indo-European values attainable by means of a rethinking of the concept of nationalism as reported – according to the dictates of the Evolian theory – to its original universalistic value, free from Eighteenth century nationalist rhetoric. Alain de Benoist, in his criticism of the Community of Europe, directed his comments to the “Jacobin” model, which according to him, was at the basis of the construction of Europe, indicating on the contrary, desirable as an “Imperial” concept which was championed by the Federalist cause.
